Hi,

When we talk about DAX, are we talking DAX 30 or 40?

DAX 30 no longer exists. It has been replaced since 2021 with DAX 40 for the simple reason that stocks made up the index have changed from 30 to 40. In addition, valuation parameters of companies have also changed: I have discussed this in depth in many pieces you will find inside the archive. If you find any brokers around who still write DAX30 or GER30 or DE30 it is just out of laziness.

Thank you for your clarification.

I am using INTERACTIVE BROKERS and I found the IBDE40 CFD asset.

I compared it against the DAX.

I compared the quote at investing.com/germany-30 webpage against IBDE40, and found that:

IBDE40 is trading at 18416.50- 18421.40

At webpage it is at 18425.60

Any comments regarding how this difference may affect the way I trade your signals?

Thank you

At 5:35 p.m. quotes end so I think you are talking about when session is active. CFD value is settling and each broker calculates it in his own way, not being centralized. If you find a fixed difference, calculate index value entry with your CFD on IB. Keep in mind that value we post inside Telegram Trading Room is centralized i.e., it is calculated on the Xetra quote.

Hi. Thank you.

I found solution where I can have real time quotes from Xetra, and I have just compared it against IB quotes and found their quotes are pretty close.

Hi,

You wrote today about the DAX ETF. I wonder if trading this ETF can replace trading the CFD.

Any comments?

No, CFDs (like futures) are products that are mainly used for the short-term trading. ETFs are products mainly for long-term investment and the best way to take advantage of this is to buy them as part of an accumulation plan. I recommend re-reading ETFs for Dummies, which you will find inside Dax Trading Ideas.

How can be used?

ETF is a low-cost financial product for passive long-term investment. The best way to use them is to create an accumulation plan and keep them in your portfolio. If you are lacking this information, I recommend you take a look at the article ETFs for Dummies on Dax Trading Ideas.
