Trading range broken in anticipation of Jackson Hole
Markets still substantially sideways, up this morning especially in Europe with first attempts to break high range of congestion. The monthly Volume Profile chart of Dax shows the attraction level for whole month of July at 15620: we have not been able to close above this very important level, let's see if today could be a good day. Fundamental resistance placed in 15760 area before the historical high above 15800 points. First words anticipate Jackson Hole symposium for the end of August are starting: Tapering winds are blowing again and sooner or later the magic word will have to be said.
Mercati ancora sostanzialmente laterali, in rialzo questa mattina soprattutto in Europa con i primi tentativi di rottura del range alto della congestione. Il grafico mensile Volume Profile del Dax segnala il livello di attrazione per tutto il mese di luglio a 15620: non siamo riusciti a mettere a segno delle chiusure sopra questo livello molto importante, vediamo se oggi potrĂ essere il giorno buono. Resistenza fondamentale posta in area 15760 prima del massimo storico sopra i 15800 punti. Iniziano le prime parole che anticipano il simposio di Jackson Hole per fine agosto: tornano a soffiare venti di Tapering e prima o poi la parolina magica andrĂ detta.
Yesterday's session was really boring, revived only almost at the closing of Wall Street breaks session lows and then recovers all the movement and starts again for almost 200 points all in one go until this morning. Markets are like that now and we have to get used to it: every lunge is bought and some bullish break is sold; however Monday sell-off session was enough to burn hundreds and hundreds of accounts of the buy on dip lovers. Strong hands know when to «pull the net» so let's be careful and not fall in love with these rises.
Sessione di ieri davvero noiosa, ravvivata soltanto quasi in chiusura di Wall Street che va a rompere i minimi di sessione per poi recuperare tutto il movimento e ripartire per quasi 200 punti tutti d'un fiato fatti fino a questa mattina. Ormai i mercati sono così e bisogna farsene una ragione: ogni affondo viene comprato e qualche strappo rialzista viene venduto; è bastato perĂ² la seduta del lunedì del sell-off per bruciare centinaia e centinaia di conti degli amanti del buy on dip. Le mani forti sanno quando «tirare la rete» quindi facciamo attenzione e non innamoriamoci di questi rialzi.
We've also updated time map we'll be using for August: new levels and new time-price operational cues to mix in with volume. Swing ranges are the ones we have already described and therefore above 15700 and below 15500-400. Inside there is a whole price zone to work for scalpers and short-term traders with targets of 10-15-20 points. For those who want to take a broader move at the moment have to wait. Volumes remain strong and trader sentiment remains volatile so opportunities could come even in August, stay alert…
Abbiamo aggiornato anche la mappa temporale che utilizzeremo per il mese di Agosto: nuovi livelli e nuovi spunti operativi di tempo-prezzo da mescolare insieme al volume. I range di oscillazione sono quelli che abbiamo giĂ descritto e quindi sopra 15700 e sotto 15500-400. All'interno c'è tutta una zona di prezzi da lavorare per gli scalpers e trader di breve termine con target di 10-15-20 punti. Per chi vuole prendere un movimento piĂ¹ ampio al momento deve attendere. I volumi rimangono sostenuti e il sentiment degli operatori rimane volubile quindi le opportunitĂ potrebbero arrivare anche ad agosto, state allerta…anche le montagne di Jackson Hole segnalano un cambiamento nel trend!
